Bates motel

So I was loving the shit out of Community on Netflix but then season 4 wasn't that great and I just kinda stopped at season 5. I was looking for a new show, and Bates motel looks interesting, is it any good?

I didn't really enjoy it all that much. It just seems like it's weird for the sake of being weird and creating buzz, with no real message.
