does this stuff even work?
 Ive noticed lately that out of nowhere it seems that the prequels have been getting a lot of love by the internet. Maybe it has to do with BF2  coming out or maybe its that time to be nostalgic for stuff from the early 00s. hell maybe the internet finally realized the movies arent actually that bad. While i fully understand the flaws of the films and some of their short comings i still find them really enjoyable, and i always felt that fans were overly critical of their flaws.


but yeah. thats cool i guess.

I think it's just that a lot of the people who grew up with the prequels are starting to voice their opinions. I mean, AoTC was one of the first films I saw in a cinema and RoTS was the first Star Wars I remember going to see, that's probably why I generally prefer Clone Wars era over Sequel, OT or Old Republic stuff.

The Prequels are ass with RoTS being decent. The only good things to come out of these movies is how the universe was expanded and prequel memes.

I love you, son.
I can get some enjoyment out of TPM and RotS (although I still think they're overall terrible) but AotC is hands down one of the worst films I've ever seen with no redeeming aspects aside from the soundtrack and some nice cinematography (EDIT: and dexter jettster and the 50s space diner).

This. Phantom Menace gets pulled apart over that RLM review from back in the day, but its flaws are over-exaggerated to ridiculousness. It's not a bad movie, just pretty mediocre. RotS is the best of the three, with its only real problem being the god awful pacing.

AotC is legitimately awful though. Only "good" parts are the city chase and the big battle on Geonosis, and they are both flawed on their own.

I wouldn't even say those are good. Battle of Geonosis is laughably dreadful IMO.

The clones arriving is hype. Entire thing dragged down by Jango "Couldn't get A Head" Fett and absolutely disgusting choreography.

Yeah I stlil think AoTC is better than Phantom Menace just because something is actually happening consistently in the movie. I felt with PM nothing was going on for veeeeeeeeery long stretches at a time and it just bored me, something a movie should never do.

But yes, the romance scenes are just so very very VERY bad. So forced.

This pretty much how I feel except I feel atoc is more mediocre than awful. Bad romance , dialogue and some boring talking scenes . it would be a lot better if they cut out some scenes

The movies sucked hard, due to writing and story line.

On the other hand with what was given it is amazing how badly they came out. I mean the overarching story line is great the whole concept behind it was great and had alot going for it, the soundtrack is also great and the fight scenes were fun. But the best way to put it, the ham fisted pandering with the love scene in the second movie and Jar Jar Binks in the first movie, i mean they could have made them better and not pandered too much. Jar Jar Binks and they could still be pulled off it someone competent was given the job of writing.

But the main reason i feel people miss it,is that it felt original and expanded the universe. Unlike the new movies which feel for me personally just clone copies, uninspiring and depressing. Well thats what you get with JJ Abrams, the Star Trek fans warned us and we did not listen.
