I'll just refer you to what Jim said. If you really sat down and watched every single movie ever made, the vast majority of them are going to be a waste of your life. There's a reason there's only a relative handful of movies that are considered "good" or even "worth watching."

I'm going to be honest, there are a lot of horror movies that i have mix feelings with, only a few are great. I guess not every horror movies are generic.

How is J.J Abrams generic? Also this a piss poor argument, there are more directors out there then J.J Abrams. They're are a few movies that i didn't like J.J Abrams work on (One of them being star track) the rest are fine.
