I still don't understand how Rohan is supposedly the capitol of a country. The films present it as a small town at best with a couple hundred residents. It barely has any walls for defence and there aren't even any farms surrounding it to feed the people inside.

It didn't need walls Rohan is defended by the Horse Lords ya dip, and when they need better protection they hole up in the best defended fortress in middle earth.

Further, Rohan is safe from the aggression of Mordor by the strength of Gondor, and their border to the North is well protected by roving riders, and even past all that, if you managed to evade all defences, you would surely be sacked by the men of the hills.

I don't see why you'd risk your defence on your cavalry when horses scare and can be killed, when you could build a wall and drop rocks on your enemies' heads as they try to get in. A good castle can hold off hundreds or thousands of attackers with as few as a dozen defenders - there seems no logical reason to risk all your expensive horses and infantry when you could have them all safe behind your walls and still able to defend the castle.

And Helms Deep is kind of poor in its design. No drawbridge on the main entrance (despite being perfect location for one), no inner gates, no moat on the deeping wall (despite the fact there is a river so a moat would be an obvious choice). A drawbridge and a moat could have stopped the Uruks for a few days if not more. And what if your civilians are attacked going to HD? What if the castle is occupied while you're at HD and now you've lost your seat of power?

I don't see why you entrust your safety on other people. What if Gondor falls or they go to war with Gondor? Why should they rely on men of the hills (I believe they're the guys who Saruman rallies to attack Rohan at the beginning of TTT, no? They don't seem to friendly to Rohan). It still seems like a really shaky foundation to entrust your defence on.

Again, it seems like way too situational of a defence to really work properly. It relies on all belligerents promising to be besties with Rohan and stick true to their word. You could still have all that while having big walls and a ditch around the walls to hold off a siege.

And that doesn't address why the grassland outside the city isn't covered in farmlands. You have to wonder where the food is coming from.

Maybe (and I imagine) it's different and better in the books, but as it's shown in the film it kind of sucks and relies on too many variables to really make a good defence.

Everything about Jojo's story including the action and dialogue is intentionally over the top. The creator uses art styles from pretty much everywhere else except Japan and likes to use western music for the anime.

Really? I'm pretty sure it's one of the most weebish things I've ever seen.

Most of its earlier plots take place in Western countries with mostly Western characters with lots and lots of Western references and influences. Heck, some of the characters are named after Western rock bands. The first three parts take place in Western/African nations. Part 1 takes place in Victorian England, Part 2 takes place here in the US (1930s) and in Mexico, and Part 3 starts in Japan (to introduce a character) but quickly changes to friggin Egypt. The author loves Western rock and Western stuff.

I know that part 5 takes place in Italy, and part 7 takes place in America again. Araki is a westaboo.
