like, what's in anime that i can't get from basically anywhere else (and much better)
A crazy fantasy caper involving alchemists, immortals, gangsters, outlaws and an elixir of immortality, spread over several decades.
i'm sure it's not
Wacky, over-powered characters of improbable age?

and i'm sure they all suck for various other unspecified reasonsdoes it sexually objectify women?
does it have lame-ass giant robots?
does it use the same cookie-cutter art style that all anime use?

there's nothing anywhere else that you can't get in anime
Verb's condemning an entire medium because he's silly
Quote from: LC on May 22, 2015, 02:16:50 AMthere's nothing anywhere else that you can't get in animei can interact with a video gameif japanese games could be considered anime, then i guess that's my favorite form of animebut the last time i called japanese games anime, the last time i even entertained the possibility, i received what was possibly the biggest sperg out i have ever seen on the internet from some crazed weeaboo
Quote from: Fruit on May 22, 2015, 02:21:29 AMVerb's condemning an entire medium because he's sillylet's say, hypothetically, that i watch every single anime everand i came back and said that i hated it allwhat would you say thenbecause that's what would happen
Well I wasn't really including videogames
Quote from: LC on May 22, 2015, 02:23:26 AMWell I wasn't really including videogamesi wasthat's kinda specifically why i mentioned themit is an entertainment medium
the only aspect of the medium that defines anime is that it's a cartoon from japanthat's itthey don't HAVE to use the same art style over and over, but they do
well, my whole point was that i can't get anything in anime that i can't get anywhere else, and i get so much more out of itnow you're just excluding those things because that's apparently "unfair"according to you, i have to enjoy animeno, the fact that video games have that edge over anime makes it more appealing to me, more fulfilling to me, more entertaining for me than any anime could ever possibly achieve
I never once said you have to enjoy it...
If you like video games more that's fine, but comparing a non interactive medium to an interactive one on the basis of interactivity is actually pretty unfair.
