There's something I don't want to be known for that would have come about as a directly indirect result of me dying at that time. For such a shity answer, I'll give you the second. I play bass and sing in a hard rock cover band. It's weird, because I'm scared of crowds and generally silent around groups of people, but this I absolutely love. I can see all the people at the bar, imagine who they are or what they do, look at how they react to the music, and if even only one guy in the room looks to be enjoying himself I feel fucking proud. For those couple hours I'm on stage, it's like I'm somewhere else. Just me and two others trying to put on the best show we can for the love of entertaining. It's fucking great, and there's such a rush and a natural high that I feel afterwards. When I come home in the morning before dawn, tired as hell and with my ears ringing, I know it was a good night. Music to me is such an amazing diversion. Bringing it as work to the forefront of my mind is one of my most effective ways of handling depressive notions. It's been a rough week, for example, but today I just sat down and ran through the set-list for a goo, long while. I'm feeling right fucking peppy and motivated now. Having a show on the weekend is such a motivator to make it though the week too, even if it's some dive bar with a corner stage that's too small for a drumkit. I love what I do, and if I can make someone's night more entertaining than just listening to a jukebox, I love it even more.
