Prince contracted HIV in the 90s. Apparently it was full blown AIDS by the time it took him. He took his medication properly for a long time, but recently got into (probably) the Jehovahs Witnesses, and apparently his religious friends were telling him that God had cured his AIDS, so he stopped taking his meds and started slowly dying.
