Until my license category updates I'm finally allowed to drive this bad boy

I've had it since mid '17 and because VicRoads are the biggest cunts in human history and change their laws like that one kid at school that keeps losing games of tag, I haven't been allowed to drive it since the start of 2018. I'd almost sold it multiple times before changing my mind at the last second.

Going to get rid of the mid 2000's sex spec kit and rice stickers for a Z-Tune body conversion, fix the paint and get a good set of wheels to start. Then work my way to performance mods since stock R34s are surprisingly slow by today's standards. I've been on the full time grind for a while to be able to afford all this before I go back to Uni. Keen as a B E A N to be back in the driver's seat. I've sorely missed the sound of an RB.

Anyway discuss cars and other modes of transport itt, I guess.

That’s the only thing I actually enjoy about driving my mum’s car. Volume control on the steering wheel is disgustingly convenient.

Could probably get an aftermarket setup if you have someone in your area you trust not to fuck up the install.

I still owe about $18k on mine so after a year I should be able to trade it in without any negative equity.

The SS I looked at a couple months ago started at $25,000 but with my current payment still on my current car, the SS would have ended up being around $31,000 and I would have been in debt if I got it.

Ah, the joys of repayments. I’m at $5k left on my car from a $9k loan. Super glad GT-Ts are still relatively cheap. But I guess they’re still very expensive for a car from 1998.

Yeah I just have to wait and then I could get a 2018 Camaro SS for probably even cheaper than the one I looked at, maybe a 2SS. That would be pretty nice.

I assume you mean Silvia? A few people I know work on them and absolutely loathe SR20s and VQ35s are oil drinkers. Solid chassis’ tho.

Corollas aren’t bad. My first car was an AE82 and I miss it sorely.

I've seen the US equivalent of the Commodore here yesterday, the Chevrolet SS. They just shipped that same exact version of the car here but just rebadged it to the SS. Sadly the car flopped because GM had literally no marketing for the car and they stopped making it for the US. I wouldn't mind owning one honestly.

Just about every car I like comes with a flaw: The RX-8 is a nice looking gem, shame it was pulled out of the market in 2010 (I think?) Because the rotary engine it uses is bad apparently.

The MX-5 however is still up and running but it's so tiny and unappealing in my opinion.

If you get an RX-8, it's best to LS swap it
