A trigger isn't psychological. Calling something objectionable or odious is saying that it's a FACT that it's objectionable or odious. Saying something is your trigger is saying it's offensive or livid-inducing on a PERSONAL level.

You don't need to have any psychological problems to be triggered by something.

The word makes sense for either. Words change, and every single person on the planet (unless you're some alien who is always happy) has triggers.
