This show looks dumb
"Genre films nowadays are all about spectacle," says Matt. "What we loved about the movies we watched as children was the great character work. They are all about the place where the ordinary meets the extraordinary."
This looks good
despite Winona being in it.
You have my attention.
It's because of Winona Ryder, isn't it?
By the way, The Crucible is a great movie.

I love Stephen King, Twin Peaks, mysteries, and the 80s aesthetic, and this show is combining the auras of all that. I could easily see myself being interested in the show even if they had like, Frances McDormand as the main character.Quote from: Stroud on June 13, 2016, 11:24:39 PMBy the way, The Crucible is a great movie.Oh my god, YES. That movie was part of what started my Winona obsession when I saw it in the 9th grade. She's absolutely fantastic there, and plays one of the best literary characters ever. Beyond her role in the movie, though, it's just so good. Reverend Hale is probably the second best character; the way he changes and dynamically switches his goal from "defeating Satan" to just saving lives is engrossing as hell.

And yes, the characters were so well written. Reverend Hale is my favorite character.

Reverend Hale is my favorite character. He's fantastic, I love how at first you think he's going to be the villainous "inquisitor" figure, but he turns out to be one of the most moral and compassionate characters in the whole film. I adore the "God damns a liar less than he that throws his life away for pride" line. He's just trying to save lives, even if it means lying and confessing to witchcraft.
Dope. I'm gonna check this out when its out.
