Is "signal boost" strictly a Tumblr thing? I ask because whenever I see the phrase being used, it's either within Tumblr or it's being used by an SJW on Twitter or some other social network.

Also, what the fuck is a "signal boost"? It seems like slacktivism in the sense that you can just repost something with the phrase "signal boost" attached to it and people think you're actively supporting something when really you're just looking for sweet, sweet internet do-goodery points.

Right now, I just associate anyone who uses the phrase with autism or Tumblr people (which are one and the same anyway).
