Again, I just love that the eyepatch lacks any shading or definition of any sort. I jested that it was an "MS Paint Eyepatch" in my reply to CheesePotato, but in all honesty it essentially is.

I think that's a different guy. I know what you're talking about though.

This is Salvador Larroca. He recently took over the art for the main Star Wars series, but prior to this he did the Vader series in its entirety. In that series, he didn't do this clumsy photoshop thing for the faces, he just traced everything.

I thought his art was bad then. I didn't know it could get even worse and Larroca could get any lazier.

i'm usually pretty lenient with my critique of artists like this but yeah, this is indefensible. The proportions and perspectives are completely off and the ink style is incredibly inconsistent. its completely unacceptable for someone in that position especially considering they arent doing anything more complex than just standing around in each frame. its not surprising that the comic industry is dying when you have guys being unfairly legitimised like this.

Yeah, it's the main series. The terrible art a Hallmark of Salvador Larroca.

The current Vader run, in comparison, has turned out some amazing art.


It's a visualization of Vader meditating.



Unfortunately the Thrawn comic is just an adaption of the novel (which is great), and not a new story, but it'll still be cool to see some of the events of the novel be drawn.

I hate it when comic artist attempt for a more realistic style, since it always seems to result in digging the uncanny valley even deeper.

I'd rather have a more simplistic style like what Mike Mignola does than that.
