"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Since everyone has such a hard-on for Thermite, who's to say the aluminum from the plane didn't just react with rusted iron in the building.

Seriously though, I doubt you guys can tell the exact chemical reaction from looking at the footage and stills. Maybe if you were Astrophysicists, but nah.

It was a very sad day. Luckily I was young and didn't really know what was going on. One of my aunts was in the Pentagon when they got hit. She was actually on the other side and said she didn't even know it happened until someone was yelling in the hallway about 5 minutes after the fact.

I also showed you a video on thermite reactions to compare it to the image. It looks pretty similar. Perhaps thermite charges were placed around key points in the buildings structure?

The "motherfucking plane on fire" as you so eloquently put it could have ignited the thermite.
You posted a fucking still-framed image of sparks coming out of a burning building that had just been hit with an airliner.

WHOA MUST BE THERMITE, BECAUSE THERMITE ALSO SPARKS

Timestamp says 9:52am on the image. The planes hit at 9:03am. This was a good 55 minutes after the planes hit.

Pretty sure long after a plane impact, let alone under an hour, various things can continue to break, bend, spark, and cripple under the stress of the impact and damage. This is a plane we're talking about. A 767, filled with electronics, fuel, and various other flammable substances, crashing into a building filled with wires, things with wires, and mechanical parts. You have zero experience with this type of forensics. It's completely out of your league. It's out of mine, too, but I'm very sure that every materials scientist or chemist would be blowing their load at the sight of these pictures if it was so obviously the work of thermite. I'm pretty sure you're just messing with me, honestly.

I'm not saying that it was thermite, but it looks like it. Did you even watch the video I posted? Thermite burns for a long, long time if it has a lot of metal to eat through.

And yeah, no, I'm not messing with you. So sorry for having a different perspective.

Just a reminder that thermite isn't a demolition tool and would require an absurd amount to cut through the steel support structures.

The picture you showed doesn't even look like a thermite reaction.

It was a plane.

There were no secret bombs or chemicals in the towers.

I'm pretty sure anything would fall apart if a few planes hit it.

Yeah, though this image does look like the workings of thermite.

that's actually contaminated aluminum that's falling, not the results of thermite.

I have first hand experience with thermite, and those red-hot spark things in that image above do kind of look like that kind of reaction...

The stuff melts and destabilizes the shit out of metal.
YOU SEEM TO BE THE EXPERT MARK

You guys don't know shit about thermite. You sure as hell don't know enough to take a quick glance at a picture and deduce that it was caused by thermite and not just

Wait for it

A motherfucking plane on fire

Yes, because you're the expert and I don't know anything about thermite. I have experimented with thermite before and seen reactions first-hand.
LOL

First of all, nice edge.

Secondly, you're not a thermite expert and you can't deduce from a picture that thermite was the cause of this.

And then there's also video proof and eye witnesses saying planes flew into the towers.

First of all, nice buzzword.

Secondly, I never said I was a thermite expert, but I have seen reactions first-hand.

Also I would just like to remind you all that my stance on 9/11 is neutral - I'm just presenting arguments so they can be hopefully explained and discussed. Insulting me isn't necessary.

Looks like its case closed for the thermite theory.

That's because I'm the OP and I'm trying to generate it. And also partly due to the fact that I stand neutral on the subject. I'm not sure being spineless is defined as appreciating both sides of the argument.

Let's get this straight: for most of the thread you were propagating the theory that thermite was used on 9/11. It wasn't, and there's no evidence it was. The notion that the U.S. government murdered 3000 citizens for some dubious reason is significant, and it's pretty contemptible to start and defend the argument and then back out by pretending you're just playing devil's advocate.

But I was playing devil's advocate.

I posted this originally, thinking most people here were in the conspiracy crowd;
Quote
People say 9/11 was an inside job and the way the buildings fell were incredibly suspicious. But, has there been any other incidents like 9/11 in history? Maybe that is how buildings react to planes. Maybe the buildings weren't as strong as believed to be.

That one didn't really take off discussion wise, so I decided I'd try the thermite theory because I know a little about thermite reactions.

Harbor*

The nukes killed far less people than an invasion would've.

"Harbor" is American-English. I'm not American, and I speak English, therefore I use "harbour". "Harbor" only exists because it was cheaper to print than "Harbour". I'm not discussing this further. Take your arrogant American meme elsewhere. You speak your version of English, I speak mine. Done.

And yeah, I'm aware that an invasion would result in more casualties, but they were still eager to test those nukes on people. They could have nuked key military bases but instead attacked cities.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were key military targets. Military bases aren't just isolated in the middle of nowhere; they have cities built around them.

Would it have not been a more humane idea to destroy the military bases specifically with missiles rather than nuking the shit out of it?

That wasn't the point. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were used to demonstrate what the United States' new wonder weapon was capable of.
