Your opinion on "Innocence"

So I've recently been reading a book called "The Catcher and the Rye" and its made me question about how I think of it. Is it a word we use to describe a child that does not know about the dull world they live in? Or is it an idea of use to think of a purpose in life?...I just wanted to know all of your all ideas of what it is.

Anywho, only children are innocent. Then they do something like steal from their siblings or take from a candy store or something like that, and that's the start of many, many little things from there on out.

Innocence to me is the same thing, but its all situational.

A child who doesn't know right from wrong, is innocent.
an adult who knows right from wrong and doesn't something wrong, isn't.

Someone who had no knowledge of a situation, is innocent. though involved, they are innocent.

OT If you are living of other people's shit lives (Such as Chinese underpaid workers) then you're hardly innocent.

Don't mistake me for a moralfag though. I think that it's a necessary thing in the world we live.

Innocence is the ignorance of the cruel things that happen in this world, or that you're prejudice and trust towards a new person is automatically a positive/high one.

It might mean you are a nice, altruistic person, but it also means you are open to being taken advantage of by those of a malicious disposition.

Unfortunately, I used to have such innocence until I became the fall guy far too many times.

I hate it so much, all it is is just a repeating of the phrase "and all". Everytime I read it and see that, I wanna just throw the book away :s

yeah we had to read this book Freshman year. i wanted to jump off a fucking cliff when we had to discuss the themes and analyze the book chapter by chapter.
