Suitable Punishment for an 11 year old Murderer?

Stumbled upon this article and was wondering what would be the "accepted" punishment for 1st degree murder for an 11 year old child? (Or any minor for that matter.)
Wouldn't locking the kid away for years in Juvenile Detention not create more social problems and antisocial behaviour when the child is released?
What do you think would be a suitable sentence? Are there any other cases of child murderers?

I'm thinking full psych testing, rehabilitation and have an eye kept of him for the rest of his life, pretty much. If an 11 year old doesn't understand the concept of wrong and right, then they're missing some vital social cues.

Extremely strict rehabilitation until he's out of juvenile court, then life-parole and continuous psych-testing/screening for the rest of his life. It sounds like he already was having issues with socially acceptable behavior, but shooting someone is something that even an eleven year-old should know is the wrong thing to do.

If they find out that that's the case, the parents should be fine if something for nit locking up weapons correctly with a kid in the house.

Psychological rehabilitation, coupled with some time in a min. security psych ward.

Jail time would do him no favours, but neither would him being let off relatively scott-free.

I saw in another article that he went inside to retrieve it from an unlocked closet.
I agree 100% that the parents should be charged as well. If not for assisting in the murder then slap them with the highest sentence for having the gun not locked away in a safe.
