I mean, i think it's for the better of the community to understand what's going on in the world. We can't shelter ourselves from violence because it's happening daily around the world. Cartel, gangs, accidents, etc shouldn't be hidden. People are really ignorant, just hearing, "5 died in a shooting in Chicago" makes people not care, instead, if they were shown a video of the shooting or aftermath, maybe they'll be more appreciative over life and be more careful. Mexican channels show blood from accidents, i don't see why American channels don't do the same.

I don't know, i feel like I'm talking out of my ass like i usually do, but i made this thread after thinking about the guy killing himself on Arizona news last year after a car chase. The camera controllers didn't know he'd off himself and the news anchor was mad it wasn't off air in time.

Local news? No, let that stay safe as kids will use that to check for snow delays and other things that directly impact them.

Nation wide news such as Fox News and CNN? Yes. If they do then parents will know and not let the kids watch it. And seriously, would the kids care, when have you ever heard a child under the age of 10 say "B-But Mommy!, I wanted to watch Megan Kelly!"? And it will help solidify a mind set in Americans, for better or worse.

I have an aunt who can't stand fake blood in shows, and she doesn't want anything to do with politics. Her views might change if they show Achmed's collection of severed Syrian rebel heads next new his new clock.

What about the privacy of the victim?
