We helped end it quicker, especially since the Soviets had to pull out, but Germany was still well on its way to losing.

It would have just prolonged it. I still don't count it as "world war champ" shit though. We did way more in WW2.

we were still reeling from the crisis in panama. woodrow wilson largely won his election due to his "stay out of wars" slogan, and our diverse population was split on the issue of the war. we pretty much needed to be provoked in order to enter the war

How has nobody here mentioned Andrew Jackson? Not only was he behind the trail of tears and the Indian Removal Act, but he was also staunchly against paper money and believed that gold and silver coins were more suitable. The dude was a genuine psychopath.

I'm thinking they're just saying we didn't do all that much simply because of being mad at Pershing. The British wanted to use us as soon as we landed but Pershing didn't want them using us in the same way they did with their colonial troops. They used them for cannon fodder and for their troops they sent them after the main fighting was done. What's ironic is that Pershing did the same thing with green troops and sent veterans after them in battle.
