I have done it but not for a friend someone who is supposed to far closer. They committed a horrible act and deserved punishment. They recently died and I gave no fucks about them. Good riddance you bastard was my feeling.

Depends on the severity of the crime.

If it's something like petty theft then I'll express staunch disapproval of their shitty life choices, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it or run to the nearest police station.

Things like rape and murder however? Well, I'd only do it if I knew beyond any reasonable doubt that they actually committed the act. Rumours can certainly raise eyebrows but they should never be used as a means to prove someone's guiltiness.
