Which is more unethical? Stem cell research, or killing flies

Blastocysts, used in stem cell research, consist of a few hundred cells.

A fly's brain consists of a few hundred thousand.

Clearly the destruction of a fly must have more ethical weight to it, considering the disproportionate ability of the fly to process stimuli and experience various sensations.

Seriously, I don't understand how anybody can possibly oppose stem-cell research in a reasonable way.

I wouldn't consider either unethical, but if I had to choose I'd say using embryonic stem cells, since I value any human life higher than a fly.
