yea. there's way too many people on it who don't need it. Welfare should only be for those physically/mentally incapable of working, not the lazy who don't feel like working.

No. Complete removal. The family and community of the disabled must take care of him/her as has been the way for centuries.

Xenophobia? That's the first I've heard patriotism being associated with it. I think it's just because of how obnoxious American patriotism has become ever since 2001, along with those who don't want to be seen as a "stereotypical" patriot perhaps. Even I can't help but cringe at seeing American flags in places where they really have no business being like painted on the side of a train or those huge flags that get brought out at literally every sporting event now. My two cents anyway.
