What do you do to try to preserve the environment?

It's my Freshman year in college, not even two weeks in, and I've already become fascinated with energy conservation and environmental preservation because of a course I'm taking called "21st Century Living Solutions." Only a few classes down, but we've already discussed so much, and the readings/videos we've been assigned to asses are incredibly interesting; they really put into perspective the ease with which people can make lasting contributions to making life and technology more sustainable. It got me thinking about how many things I could do to start helping preserve the environment, and just live a more economically sensible, moral life.

What do you do to try to help out? What are some ways that you've tried to reduce your carbon footprint, or just to help create a better future for humanity?

I'm an advocate for the voluntary human extinction movement, and I'm a vegan.

I also pick up litter whenever I see it, and I recycle, but then again, so does everybody else (hopefully).

Me and most of my family are scroungers. I recycle and repurpose what I'm able to.

The landfill dump outside of town has shit people throw away like you wouldn't believe.

Keep my litter in my pocket until I find a bin or a recycling bin. Preferably the latter.

Turn my plugs off at the wall when not in use aside from if I'm downloading and/ or charging something.

I tend not to have two consoles or whatever on at once. My friend always has his laptop on while on Xbox, and it annoys me.

The most I do is recycle a few select metals, polymers, glass, and paper. Not much else I could do. I do plan to get one of those Tesla battery generators and a solar panel on my house. But to be honest, that's more so because I don't want to pay for energy.

Nothing that counters the fact that a single flight burns about 2 months worth of a car's gas budget.

Though I do return plastic bags to the store and recycle hazardous materials like light bulbs and batteries.

I guess I shouldn't tell you that I took off a bumper sticker on my car which was at my house and when I went for a walk I tossed it a mile down the road on the ground,.
