These traits have no inherent value.

It's actually economic prosperity, scientific advancement, feats of engineering, military might, and patronship of the arts. Your civilization can be the most tolerant in the world, but that still means fuck all when said civilization leaves no legacy to it's name.

When the US dies, do you think we're going to remembered for our tolerance of minorities? Fuck no. We're going to be remembered for our cultural contributions and the fact we put a man on the Moon.
Legacy doesn't mean shit. People remember your society? Big fucking deal. Morality is more important than legacy, any day.
