The Obama administration made two additional cash payments totaling $1.3 billion, after delivering $400 million to Iran by plane in January, to resolve a failed arms deal, administration officials told lawmakers Tuesday. That cash payment was made in January on the same day Iran released four American prisoners and formally implemented the nuclear deal. The money was flown in a plane to Iran on wooden pallets stacked with various currencies to resolve a dispute between the two countries stemming from a failed arms deal made before the Islamic Revolution in 1979 that toppled the Shah. When the nuclear deal was implemented in January, the Obama administration announced that it agreed to pay $1.7 billion to settle the decades old dispute, although officials didn't say when or how the payments were made until now.
It might want to be noted that this arms deal happened back in the 70s.

Internationally, not so muchBush was just trash all around.Obama is widely considered to be a good president in the West though. Not going to speak for Asia, Russia and the Middle East, but he's pretty popular here.

They have invested a lot in various sectors of the state integrating Iran into the world economy would actually have a positive effect by undermining their control, lots of Iran analysts I follow expect an IRGC take over should the Mullahs fall but you never know the Green movement of a couple years back isn't completely dead they'd most likely face lots of public resistance, something of which Iranians are masters of.I don't see the people overthrowing the IRGC without help from America.

Who helped the people during 79? The Shahs Imperial Army and Savak couldn't do anything because it was a genuine popular movement (later hijacked) IRGC wont be able to stop something similar either.CIA
