I don`t think those bans will be implemented effectively, also I don`t think that they will be effective at blocking people, who know more or less how to google "how to bypass ISP block to [insert your favorite porn site here]" at least.

I agree that there's a difference there, but in the core idea is pretty much same. The thing which bothers me though is how they define porn site/content from non-porn site/content. Also who or what will be tracking down porn sites. Also credit card confirmation? Isn`t it just opens a new can of worms?

So the UK government expects people to just give random porn sites their credit card details? Yeah that sounds safe.

For Pornhub there are times when I click on a video I get spammed with those fake game bait and switch links. I don't think that it will be carried by sites themselves, at least it shouldn't, because it is hard to make every site who hosts something age restricted implement block, plus owners of sites will probably be against such kind of block, plus in this case sites will really have access to your credit card info, which is dumb.

"The age-check requirement applies to any website or other online platform that provides pornography "on a commercial basis" to people in the UK. It allows a regulator to fine any business that refuses to comply and to ask third-party payment services to withdraw support. The watchdog will also be able to force internet providers to block access to non-compliant services."

Basically, commercial porn sites must have proper age verification tools for anyone trying to connect from the UK. If they don't, they can first be fined and then blocked completely in the UK by British ISPs. So it's not the ISPs who will verify the identity.

Could one reason for the UK's insane gun restrictions be due to the government not wanting the people to have a good chance of a successful rebellion? The reason why I'm asking this is because the UK's government seems to be a bunch of power hungry assholes. Some guy got arrested for posting a YouTube video of his Hitler supporting dog and now, all but the banning of porn seems to be like a move carried out by a group of people who want the country to live by their own twisted views. Today it's porn, tomorrow R rated movies will be banned and who knows what insane restriction is going to happen next.

Tbh, don't even blame the tories for this. They're only doing it to pander to the schoolgate "I'd like to speak to your manager" mums who can't be arsed to actually parent and put up parental blocks. A more productive piece of legislation would be to prevent these goons from getting access to Prosecco.
