That's a strange use of the word "loss". I can tip water out of a glass, and technically that glass has lost water. But not in any morally relevant sense.

Well if you're asking me to justify why I eat meat, it's simply because I require the nutrients in them to sustain my active lifestyle. Chicken is loaded with protein and amino acids necessary for muscle development. Of course, it's very possible to maintain my lifestyle with a vegan diet, but the fact of the matter is that it's expensive and rather difficult for me to find alternatives that can even compare to the nutritional goldmine that are lean meats.

I have nothing against vegans and I'd even be open to trying to make a change to that diet one day. But, in the meantime, I'm continuing to do what I'm comfortable with.

If it makes you feel any better, I only buy vegetarian-fed, organic chicken products, and red meats are a delicacy to me. I'm disgusted by the majority of the meat industry.

Well, good, I'm glad. That was a better response than what I was anticipating.

I just don't appreciate this attitude people have towards vegans--"I'm fine with vegans, but I don't like when they shove their beliefs down my throat"--when the first amendment guarantees my right and ability to shove whatever beliefs I may have down the throats of anyone I please. Because I think it's important.

Eh, that doesn't really apply to anywhere outside of the US (and even then, this applies).

Regardless of what cause is important, it gives me the same right to ignore it as you have to say it.
