obviously, SOME higher power created the universe. its kind of odd for zealous atheists to just pass it off completely, just because they don't like religious terminology.

it could be Yahweh, or Zeus, or math. whatever you call it, the higher force that created and governs us is God.

So you're just playing devil's advocate for the hell of it? lol

So, let's grant a necessary first cause. Is there any reason why it must be conscious? Consciousness(agency) being something that seems to be a necessary attribute for something to be called god, at least to me. I see no particular reason for it to be so.

As far as allowing for the supernatural, it depends on exactly what you mean by that.
