What are your thoughts on the exploration of space? Is it worth the time/money/potential loss of life?

Uncomfortable fact: the investigation concluded that some of the crew were still alive after the explosion (3 of the 4 personal emergency oxygen supply devices were manually activated), which means they met their fate only when the crew cabin hit the water after freefalling back to earth for 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

They were most likely knocked unconscious moments after they deployed their masks as they weren't pressurized at all.

This is true. I guess that's...less terrible?

I wish I had the balls to do these things in the name of science and exploration. I can't think of anything I would give my life for. I have the utmost respect for these people.

It's less terrible. The idea that maybe they weren't awake for hitting the ocean makes me feel a little better. At least they weren't terrified the whole way down

Additionally, I also hold these brave men and women in the highest regards. I respect them immensely and admire their courage and bravery.

This is literally the one time I'll ever get even remotely patriotic towards my own country FYI. Serious shit here.

Space exploration is worth every cent. In fact, space exploration benefits the economy greatly.

I wouldn't mind risking my life to expand mankinds horizon's.
