China just treats North Korea as that one autistic child that they want to try and be friends with since everyone picks on them. But in the event of North Korea launching an assault on South Korea with the U.S. joining in, China knows its long-term interests lie with helping the Americans and turning North Korea into a fucking wasteland.
This could get interest... fast. Especially if Russia capitalizes on the opportunity and attempts a bigger takeover of some more former Soviet territories. I mean, we know Russia and China have been getting closer in the past few years, with Russia saying it was prepared to use nuclear weapons if the west had intervened in Ukraine.Has anyone else noticed, recently, how the current situation seems to be like the that led to World War II? Russia = Germany trying to become more powerful after being stripped of much of it's economy and territory, with the west appeasing them for fear of starting another war, and America starting to lose power with China starting to gain it.I say that, as someone who is of the belief that there will be a Third World War in my lifetime. Not necissarily nuclear, but certainly between superpowers. I hate sounding like a tinfoil hat, but I genuinely believe that there will be another major war within the next few decades.

With Globalization, World Economy and trade. It's not in any country's best interest to start a large war, because everyone will lose.

And if the current stock market thing does become a new Great Depression, then there wouldn't be much of a world economy left to save. That said, I see something between the EU/ NATO and Russia as more likely, due to Russia actually having waged war recently for their former territories.I'm a pessimist at heart, so forgive me if I sound like that. But I don't really see everything turning into sunshine and rainbows. Even if it wasn't politics, something like climate change could spark something big.
And if the current stock market thing does become a new Great Depression

Unemployment rate is still way down, the economy is simply adjusting itself because of the over inflated Chinese market. The crash today has pretty much already stabilized and recovered in the U.S.
I'd honestly enlist if we get into a full on war

China also can't afford a war with any first world nation. The Chinese military is kinda like the Imperial Guard from W40K: Shitty weapons, but lots and lots of meat to throw at the enemy. One shitty Chinese Assault Rifle may not do much damage, but 50 of them fucking will.
