A 25 year old Woman died from a suspected Overdose, and a 22 year old Woman is in an induced coma after Stereosonic Sydney, a Music Festival renowned for its drug Culture from Steroids to Party substances.

Anyways, it's piss easy to avoid overdosing. All drugs are safe. Responsible use is absolutely okay.

I'm inclined to sort of agree. Everybody likes to talk about how weed isn't addictive, at least physiologically, but the NIH reports something like 30pc of the ~9pc of adults who smoke marijuana exhibit addictive behaviour.

It's all well and good saying "Know your limits", but some people are just incapable of it.

I'm for legalization of recreational drugs, but this is such a naive and dangerous statement that it needs to be called out. Responsible use is okay but the primary argument against legalization is that the majority of users are incapable of it, leading to dangerous and expensive addictions.

I hate that logic. It makes me so angry because people use the excuse of "I dont need to use drugs to have fun". Im a pretty heavy drug user, or was, anyway, and to be honest, drugs are an addition to the experience, not the center of it.

If you go to a festival, bring water, a lot of it. Test your drugs. Drink water.

How's it naive, though? It really is easy to avoid overdosing. For one knowing your limits, and two, some basic research.

Incidents like these is what gives rave and festival culture a bad rap...just another case of dumb people not being responsible with their drug use.

Like what's already been said in this thread a couple times, know your limits and do your research prior to taking substances that you're not familiar with, and this wouldn't even be a problem.

Why? People are already going to these events with the mindset of taking a drug, wouldn't you at least agree that it would be better for them to know what exactly it's going to do beforehand? I don't see safety and responsibility as a bad thing.
