I'll admit, some things, like the aversion to sexuality and the implication that Jews and other Christians are accidentally worshipping Satan are kind of problematic, but it's miles ahead of Protestantism, Catholicism and Orthodoxy.

It's honestly the sect that makes the most sense of all the various denominations. It's no wonder that the petty little shits in the vatican stamped them out. How dare you preach tolerance in the middle ages, how dare you think that the old testament god was actually an asshole and the new testament god was a nice guy.

Being so ahead of, and above, their time is what did them in. The ideas weren't really radical, or new, but they were very new to Christianity, especially in this combination. There really was no way to teach all this stuff without pissing off the establishment.

Not to derail this thread further, but Kotor 2 really is BRILLIANTLY written. It deconstructs and even mocks the petty, childish Light VS Dark theme prevalent throughout Star Wars. Easily the most mature piece of content the franchise ever got.
