Pretty much this. Israel keeps taking more and more land and their Prime Minister literally said he wouldn't go for a two state solution, much to the "surprise" of all the west who want it done and had been negotiating for it. Israel is just as bad, if not worse than some things going on over there. The fact the US still supports them is annoying simply because they're a strategic asset. Then again, we have a history of supporting dictatorships too, even if it's against our laws to not support a government that takes over via military coup.

But you know. WW2 Jew guilt will always override the atrocities they do over there. That's not to say the other side isn't guilty either, but damn. Israel isn't the angel people paint it out to be.

Putting aside the atrocities(inb4 you fucking monster), it seems like the US also has more in common culturally with Israel than other Middle Eastern countries. Judaism has also chilled far more than Islam in general, which is nice to know they won't tend to massacre innocents just to spread their ideology. They'll just do it because they're sick of everyone else's shit.

We really shouldn't be giving them so much money though, they're well enough as it is and have no problem defending themselves or their economy.

Still, in the year of our lord 2015, it seems support for Israel has officially been split on party lines, with Democrats not wanting to support nearly as much as Republicans. At least from what I've seen/heard. For all I know a lot of politicians on the Dem side still support them.

Politicians are just going to want to support whoever they benefit from, party lines generally don't matter too much when it comes to that. Democrat and Republican policies don't seem to change when they trade office spaces, either. Seems like a show to me.

Yeah, but I find it hard to blame them when they live in a region where everyone around them wants Holocaust V2 Electric Boogaloo. The turning Palestinian villages into parking lots thing seems out of hand, but compared to the shit that goes on in that region in general, I don't know what to say.

This is my fucking point. This isn't a minority of people. It's not "a fraction of a fraction" as people make it out to be.

I think you first have to separate suicide bombings as a form of terrorism from suicide bombings as a legitimate tactic to guerrilla fighters. Only 48% of Americans are "very concerned" about killing civilians in drone strikes, and that correlates strongly with just being concerned about the backlash, not the actual civilians. You also completely misrepresented statistics about militant groups like the Taliban; Actually, what the poll shows us is that Pakistanis are 60-8% favorable-unfavorable. You can't just lump abstentions into the "favorable" category any more than you can lump it into the "unfavorable" vote. Palestinians and Lebanese are 40% in favor of Hezbollah? Yeah, no shit, it's their government, and they're actively waging war against what they perceive to be a deeply cultural and religious enemy.

I shouldn't have to restate the article's own claims; its very thesis is that support for extremist tactics and militant groups is on a significant downward trend. Your incredibly strong bias is causing you to blatantly misrepresent this article and its statistics.
