What the hell. I didn't even know such a thing was part of the law in Ireland. There's me thinking Britain is a lot more lenient on super serious religion bullshit than other countries that shan't be named, but here we are.


So what are your thoughts on religion influencing law and the government? I don't like a system that is influenced by something that might not even exist...

Its fucking Ireland, no one should give a damn.

Even we don't give a damn. Some bastard at home got offended and decided to pull out the only "my feelings hurt" card Ireland has, that most of us didn't know about (and the rest never took seriously).

Why this got blown out of proportions is anybody's guess, and it makes Ireland look retarded for completely the wrong reasons.

Nobody has ever been prosecuted under this law and the guy filed charges against Fry precisely to bring attention to the ridiculousness of the law.

Blasphemy laws are fucking despicable.
