SpaceX will be conducting a mission to the ISS on the 6th of January, at 11.20 am GMT / 6.20 am EST(around about 12 hours away as I post this).

While rocket launches are always fun to watch, this time SpaceX will be attempting to land the first stage of the launch vehicle onto a barge located in the ocean.

Basically they're going to launch the rocket and send carge to the ISS like normal, and they're going to attempt to safely land the first stage of the rocket onto a floating platform in the sea. Fucking interesting stuff.

If you want a lot more in depth information, you may as well go here: http://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comments/2r5drz/rspacex_crs5_official_launch_discussion_updates/

If you don't want to read it, feel free to ask me any question you have about it and I'll be happy to answer them.

Posting this early so people are aware of it and have plently of time to watch it if they want.

Pretty picture of what the first stage will look like if it lands
