The US Constitution vests the Congress with the sole power to create and administer the capital in Section 8:To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; The idea was to avoid making the US capital the pawn of any one state or the subject of any state's laws. The U.S. Constitution requires that any new states formed from an existing state receive permission from the legislature. Since Maryland granted land to form the national capital and not a new state, some lawmakers have concluded that Maryland must also consent to the new state

Well the Federal government needs a place to run operation. Only place is on land that's not part of a state. It creates an unfair advantage in politics and shows the federal government favoring one state when this is a nation based on equality if it were operating in a state

Voting=/=being a stateD.C citizens have the ability to vote. They just don't have the ability to elect Senators (since they are not a state) and House Reps. can't vote (same as above, but they however have the ability to talk and debate like everybody else......I assume)
It's federal enclave. If you're going to live in a place that's under U.S control but is not a state then you're not going to be able to do certain things. That's how it works
Besides, of the 600K that live there, how many of them are actual citizens? I would imagine many being citizens of a state but just living their for work

They have the same capabilities to move out on their own as a 40 year old person. Once again no one is forcing them to live there. And the whole forum gets trolled. From Slash's own words, never take anyone on the internet seriously.
