Well considering they can cause problems (even at a very low rate) and the people in question were already prescient enough to address the issue at hand by getting an abortion, I definitely think it shouldn't be forced on them. Never hurts to inform people though in case it might save some effort the next time around.

I was thinking more along the lines of a free opt-in to have the IUD put in after the abortion. While it's heavily idealistic, there is a higher birth rate among people of a lower socioeconomic bracket and these people tend to have children younger as well, leading to children born into an environment where they won't thrive. Adding in the option for getting an IUD placed in after an abortion makes sure that people who don't understand proper contraceptive protection or don't have the proper financial stability won't have the same action occurring.

There's probably a small rate exceptional to this, but wouldn't the fact that the people in question are getting abortions suggest that they aren't the ones to have children too early? Again, I don't disagree that giving them the option would be taking anything away from them at least!

It seems like a reasonable idea, provided the doctors exercise a bit of discretion and don't try to sell IUDs to rape victims or medical abortions then yeah it shouldn't be a problem.

Honestly, don't rape case abortions go to the same facility as other people? I mean, I understand with medical emergencies that they'll already be at the hospital when they find out the child is a risk to the mother's life, but with rape case abortions, the chick won't know until later on. I don't think they ask the woman their reason for the abortion, do they? I admit, I'm ignorant on the subject in that regard.

Maybe it's the tiredness but I would imagine they don't ask the reason for making scrambled eggs in someone's womb.

So the problem would be, if you make the assumption that the person who had to have their little ayylmao ripped out with a hoover is promiscuous rather than being the victim of an ayy lmao themselves, that probably won't go down too well for their future health and wellbeing.

So asking people if they want an IUD after one could go awry, involuntary IUDs shouldn't really be a thing and it's a bit of a catch 22. I guess making it a clear available option at the clinic with posters or the like wouldn't do any harm though.

I may very well be wrong but I imagine it's pretty standard for doctors at clinics and hospitals performing abortions counsel mothers about how to avoid it in the future.
