If a straight man were to meet another man they really enjoyed the company of and got into a romantic relationship, this would either be deemed impossible or claimed that they were bi all along. Seems like it should be fluid and can change depending on the situations and culture one partakes in. iirc it's a relatively new idea, historically too.
