College students need to get over this ridiculous loyalty they have towards the sports teams of their college, college is a place to learn, not WW2 Germany.

The problem is that these teams generate a ton of money for the school.

Thats great and all, but that doesn't forgive rape. The people attending college aren't the ones getting their pockets filled from the sports teams, its the college. They may get secondary benefits, but that doesn't mean students should become forgiving followers, they aren't a bloody cult.

Oh, I certainly don't disagree. My point was that since the teams are such cash cows, there's no way the school will turn its emphasis from the team(s) to the actual education when there's money to be made.

Complete and utter bullshit is what it is, it doesn't help that some people in the states get zealous whenever football is involved.

Education on drugs on alcohol, PRIOR to freshers week would certainly help a bit.

And fuck, maybe some tips in common fucking decency. If a drunk girl comes onto you, hold it off until she's damn sober (and still coming onto you, duh) until you decide to do anything, direct her to her female friends or something. Not sure how to apply this the other way round as I know male's tenacity and blind ignorance at certain points of inebriation, but safety in numbers would probably help.

You can warn teenagers all you want about alcohol and drugs, but you won't stop all of them getting fucked up. You gotta teach some people just to be people too.
