Several electors plan to vote for John Kasich over Trump

I'm listening to NPR right now and several electors (Electoral College) are being interviewed about their plan to vote for Kasich in the hope that they meet the minimum number of votes (36, I think?) for the vote to go to Congress.

Obviously it's a fringe movement, but it'd be interesting to see that happen. Any thoughts on the upcoming vote this afternoon?

Saw this in WSJ today: The Associated Press interviewed over 330 electors, found little evidence to support a successful revolt.

I read one analysis (Was either the NYTimes or Politico) that the goal isn't just to prevent Trump from the Presidency - but to sow seeds of doubt into the reliability of the electoral college system, in the hopes that it's modified or removed.

I can't speak for the electors on that though.

Why do you think so many people choose not to vote? Because they don't want to. Either they're not interested, they don't care about politics, they don't know enough about the candidates, they don't consider themselves qualified, they don't like democracy, or they literally cannot choose and are willfully abstaining.

Why is it a good idea to force these people who don't have an opinion to have an opinion?

Do you think that's an accurate representation of what the public wants/needs?
