so i just had a small discussion with a girl (taxing women hygiene products)

and she asked me my opinion on taxing women hygiene products. it kinda made me think as to why these products are taxed when they shouldnt or at least have a lesser tax pay on them. govts need to make their money so i do think lowering a tax on tampons / pads should be helpful. what do you guys think on this?

So is toothpaste

So is soap

Personal hygiene products are always taxed why make an exception

I do think you should be allowed to buy them with "food stamps" (along with some other essentials)

I mean it's more important that your daughter have pads than that she has candy and junk food which is concerned

iirc, it was more like, a woman will always have a period and the items can be pricey as is. women's hygiene products should have a reduced tax at least since they cant control it

When I had food stamps I always thought it was stupid as fuck I could theoretically buy twinkies or icecream but not things we actually needed

Everything is taxed. Everything. Sure, put them on food stamps to help the truly poor, but every sale is taxed. If you make enough money to not be on food stamps, you make enough money to not bitch about items being taxed.
