I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

I'd blame a lack of proper education, as well as how much of a (rather expensive) public spectacle they've turned presidential elections into. But it's not like it's a real democracy either anyway.

What's real democracy?
- One where popular vote decides and not the electoral college
- Equal representation of all parties rather than two big parties
- Instant-runoff voting rather than "here pick one and only one" voting

America's system--whatever you want to call it--is a shitty bastardization of what democracy ought to be.

I realize why we don't have the perfect system--but by no means do I have to support the one we do have. IRV is within reach, and that alone would solve two-party corruption. The only problem is that people would have to learn how the system works, and it's not quite as novel a concept as ticking a single box and moving on.

It's supposed to be a "democratic republic" but I'm not so sure that accurate anymore either.

Most politicians don't care about being the voice of the people like they're supposed to be. You know, the entire reason everyone hates politicians even though they're supposed to be direct representations of all of us.
