Let's look at European political history to get an idea of where their heads are

>feudalism, where the landowner controls all the little serfs who have no value short of labor

>monarchy, another authoritarian system where the head of state is treated as divine, and nobody else is of any real value

>constitutional monarchy, where they were kind of starting to figure out that monarchy is dumb, but never got all the way there. A lot of Euro countries are still in this stage.

>fascism, where the state is god and human rights are irrelevant. This shit nearly destroyed western civilization, and you fuckers decided the best way to prevent it happening again was to start arresting people who say things you don't like.

>bolshevism, enough said

Europe's intellectuals may have a history of individualism and criticism of the state, but Euros in general do not seem to value freedom.

I'm high as fuck. Come at me.

Pretty much.

It's like a cross between full hivemind collectivism (Far east) and Yeehaw muh freedumbs (Far west).

I never said the US was perfect. Or that individualism was inherently better.

But you have to admit that, in our brief history, the US and Canada have a stronger tradition of individualism than any other society.

Mexico to a lesser extent, especially during the civil wars.
