Open Carry Fixing to be legal in Texas.

The bill that will make Open Carry legal in Texas has passed the House and Senate and will soon be signed into law. You will still have to have your CHL in order to participate in this.

What are your thoughts on this?

While I thinks its great, I wont be practicing Open Carry. I dont want anybody to know im packing. I can also see many misunderstandings coming with people suddenly carrying in plain site.

It's good in the sense of responsible people who know how to use a gun can better protect themselves and feel more safe now.

It's bad because the mentally unstable and criminals can now open carry, therefore giving them the illusion they have more freedom, which leads to more violence.

I think the negatives out weight the positives a bit.

It just strikes me as defeating the whole purpose of carrying a gun, letting the other guy know that you are armed/what you are carrying/where it is seems like information that is best kept hidden.

It's fine for officers mind you, because they are meant to be a show of force to keep order and all that but civilians wandering around like it's the wild west seems like it's a good way to turn it into the wild west >_>

Open carry should be legal, but, honestly, I think it's really fucking stupid if Concealed is an option.

You must be a CHL holder to open carry.

I have nothing against it. I'm only against the people who will use this as an excuse to film themselves open carrying in places they know will cause aggression and hostility in order to instigate something and then act like they are defending their rights by doing so.

As someone in a freely open cary state, I gotta say that open carry is fucking dumb and there are no real advantages to it over CC'ing your weapon (other than not needing a license in PA)

Lol.. The Mentally unstable and criminals are the ones who are more likely to hide their illegitimately acquired firearms than anyone else. They'd be so paranoid with it out in the open too

If you're going to carry a gun on you for protection you're just better off doing a CC. To me the only thing open carry does is make people around you uncomfortable and nervous outside something like hunting. Walking into a store or a restaurant with a pistol in your hostler is going to like I said make people uncomfortable.
