Amenities such as movie theaters, bowling alleys, gyms, swimming pools, etc can either be free or cost less on base than offIt's also just the perks of signing up and having to be deployed, move many times, and be away from your family for months at a time. Yeah sure, they signed up on their own behalf but it's still something to show some gratitude. All of this dwarfs in comparison to the true wasting when it comes to purchasing new tanks that have no use or buying fighter jets that will never see combat

The change in location was to a better spot on the property.The president had no prior knowledge of the wedding. Invitations like the one sent by this couple are handled by the protocol office. The note back from the protocol office just happened to arrive on the same day.
