Why? Why can't they go use their own money at a golf course?
Quote from: Mad Max on December 29, 2014, 04:13:26 PMWhy? Why can't they go use their own money at a golf course?Wait, is the course for officers or soldiers?
Must be nice to play golf for free.
Quote from: Mad Max on December 29, 2014, 04:19:13 PMMust be nice to play golf for free.If it can be shown to have a positive psychological effect for the marines themselves, then it's totally worth it.

Military bases shouldn't have golf courses.Must be nice to play golf for free.
Let them enjoy some taxpayer-paid relaxation, it's not like they don't pay taxes either.
Marines work 100 times harder than anyone on here. They should have MORE than a golf course on their base.
Sounds like you're a little biased. To say marines don't deserve a golf course after all they do for us is an absolute joke.
You understand that it really doesn't cost that much for a golf course. 1-2 million for a nice course isn't going to break the bank.
With average golf course construction costs typically ranging from $1.6 to $4.5 million, and the total cost of putting a new course on line frequently exceeding $10 million, just getting the course opened is extremely expensive.
after all they do for us

go all WOOOLVERIIIINES!!! on their asses.
Well, they go over to fight our enemies

The president had nothing to do with the relocation. The secret service made the call. He was informed of the situation later and telephoned the couple. The call from the president "made their day". The change in location was to a better spot on the property. The president had no prior knowledge of the wedding. Invitations like the one sent by this couple are handled by the protocol office. The note back from the protocol office just happened to arrive on the same day.
Why the fuck are you all so caught up on the golf course? Tons of bases have them. Are you under the impression that bases are how they are in video games and movies where everyone lives in bunk beds in a giant hangar and you carry a gun everywhere? Families live there. There are usually several grocery stores, parks, bars, and yes, recreational facilities like bowling, golf, or movie theaters. Holy crap, guys. Marines are people too; they like the same dumb shit you do.

Golf courses are a luxury but bars and movie theaters aren't?
