Military will open a lot of doors for you in your life, yes, but just be ready for a bunch of bullshit thrown your way. From three or four close friends I know who joined, one in the army, two in navy, and one in marines, the universal consensus is that you get a lot of bullshit thrown your way. Stuff like "why aren't we doing it like this? It'd be easier." To which the answer is "because that'd make sense."

So just be ready for stress and stuff.
