For me, both are one and the same.

It probably will be something like Pluto having some form of ancient volcanism, or even implied evidence of active tectonics.

No way it's tectonics, but it's definitely some form of active geological phenomena. Cryovolcanism likely caused by Charon's gravitational influence, is my guess.

they're rendered to look the way we might perceive them with our eyes. it would be hard to notice pluto's blue sky at any time other than dawn or dusk though, if we were standing on the surface.
