Unless you have religious beliefs, there aren't any downsides to it. Maybe you'll have family that misses you, but family dies eventually. You could be hit by a car tomorrow and they'd have to get over it. No different than if you killed yourself. It's not like your life even matters in the grand scheme of things. Outside close family and possibly friends, who would really care? Family wouldn't even care after a certain number of years. Everyone will move on.

Plus who knows, maybe there is something after death? None of us really know for sure. It'd be an exploration of the unknown. The only reason why people fight against it is because death is unknown. People fear it because of that. If we knew for certainty that you'd live on a cotton-candy island after death, people wouldn't be so adamant about stopping you from killing yourself. It's selfish on their part.

I'm not going to remove this. However you probably need help, or at least a psyche evaluation. This post makes you sound like a sociopath. Suicide is not the answer, and yes they need to seek attention in order to get help, because it does get better. You just have to work through it.

It's not the answer to you, but it is for a lot of people. Suicide is only deemed as bad because humans have no knowledge of what happens after death to your conscious. Like I said, if we knew what there was, we wouldn't be so against it. It's like peering over a bottomless pit. You don't know what's down there, but if you somehow knew you'd be able to land safely at the bottom, you might jump.

Why should you make someone who can't stand living continue living? That's a bit cruel. Instead you want to change their mind to the way you think. Now do some people who want to kill themselves have other mental issues to be figured out? Sure, but that's not always the case.

As for myself, I'm fine. I enjoy life, and want to continue living. Though I also realize, not everyone is like me. There are some people that just can't take the pressures of life and would rather end it. So why stop them? Would you rather we put them in a mental hospital for the rest of their life (one that they do not want to live), feeding off the government teet? That seems a bit redundant if you ask me.

And a sociopath? I don't lack a conscience. I just believe that it's someone's body, so they have the right to choose what to do with it.

If I were to kill myself, I'd want it to be absolutely painless. I don't want to suffer at all. If I can't have that, then I'm never killing myself. I also want it to be free. I don't want any institutions profiting off of my suicide, whatsoever. They can use my body for scientific purposes--but they will not make a dime off of me killing myself.

I could have all of that, if the government would only provide it to me. I don't want to have to buy a gun for reasons that should be stupefyingly obvious.

1. I could fuck it up. There are no instruction manuals on how to properly shoot yourself dead, painlessly.
2. It's inhumane as fuck. I don't want to die with a bullet-hole where my head should be.
3. It's messy. I don't want to have to oblige someone to clean up after me.
4. Whoever finds my body is going to be traumatized--especially if it's a significant other.
5. There's a huge, long process involved with purchasing a gun legally.
