I said the same thing. Apparently it's because my parents took away his phone and he obviously didn't want them to know what was happening (this was before the school alerted them of it).

Hard to say. I see those arguments about him being a 13 year old.  But at the same time, it depends on the context. A 13 year old might ask for tits and then after they got what they wanted, I doubt they'd really be interested in keeping it going for months or so as you say he has.

People always bring up age as an argument. "He's only this old." Well, I'll tell you what, recently, in my province, there happened to be a school shooting. 9 dead and 7 injured. The kid's in the 14-15 range.

They're not putting him up as a juvinile. He's being tried as an adult.

This is a different context from the situation here. But my point is that sometimes people, no matter how young they are, can't and shouldn't escape the full consequences. But it's not my place to really say since I don't have all the information and I'm not the one in that current situation.

I can't really say what I'd do either since, honestly, I'm used to cutting out family members who aren't nice people.

Well, there's an issue then. You know how "smart" isn't really definable as a general term. Just like you can have a smart guy who knows how to build build things, or a smart guy who can run the numbers in math, you can have a smart guy who knows how to be a cunt.

You'd think "smart" would also mean being able to pick and choose the better actions and morals to undertake, but it doesn't.

My knowledge of Canadian criminal law is pretty shaky, but I can give you my opinion on the legal side if you'd like.

Yeah, I feel slightly responsible for how he's turned out (this isn't exactly his first offense with stuff like this, it's just the most publicised). Maybe I could've spent more time with him, molded him a bit more... I don't know. Regardless, my parents have forced me to handle the situation because, in their words, "they just can't anymore"...

I'm thinking the best way to handle this is to be firm but fair... spend time with him, bond a little, try and get him to understand why what he's doing is wrong...

I don't see it getting that bad after today's proceedings, so that's okay. Both my brother and the girl decided that they wanted to keep in on the "down-low", which basically means that my brother won't be attending school until March break and neither will she.

Yeah, the girl was talking with her friends about it and some teachers overheard. They informed the parents and then my parents were called in.

I don't think it was malicious, to be honest. I think the two kids liked each other. I think the parents are trying to push the sexual harassment thing to save their daughter's face, yknow...

Yeah, he deleted the pictures before all this. The girl's dad called him from her phone at 2PM on Monday, and my brother said it was just his first instinct to delete the texts. All of this started on Tuesday
