A man who tried to shoot seven puppies was shot himself when one of the dogs put its paw on the revolver’s trigger.Jerry Allen Bradford, 37, was being treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound to his wrist.Bradford said he decided to shoot the 3-month-old shepherd-mix dogs in the head because he couldn’t find them a home, according to the sheriff’s office. On Monday, Bradford was holding two puppies — one in his arms and another in his left hand — when the dog in his hand wiggled and put its paw on the trigger of the .38-caliber revolver. The gun then discharged, the sheriff’s report said.Deputies found three of the puppies in a shallow grave outside Bradford’s home, said sheriff’s Sgt. Ted Roy.The other four appeared to be in good health and were taken by Escambia County Animal Control, which planned to make them available for adoption
SpoilerBut guns dont dangerous though. It's not like they are lethal weapons or anythinganyone who owns a gun legaly is always a perfectly upstanding and comlpetely rresponable citizen of the law with no problems, and would never misuse said gun ever.We don't need any restrictions to prevent this kind of thing from happening. That damn Muslin Obamur must have set this up.

I wonder why he didn't just drop them off at a shelter.
Quote from: HurtfulTurkey on September 23, 2015, 11:45:01 AMI wonder why he didn't just drop them off at a shelter.Because killing them (quickly) does no harm and doesn't put more burden on shelters which already have plenty to worry about.Really he just fat fingered a task that otherwise doesn't have anything wrong with it (other than not spaying his dog)
Is this really a gun control story OP?Because it sounds more like a Florida control story to me.

"It's fine to kill a dog with a painful injection that just paralyzes them so they don't react to the pain", but it's a fucking atrocity to give them a quick, easy death via gunshot. What's the difference? One causes blood, the other doesn't. So yeah, it's fine to kill an animal in a painful way as long as it looks clean to us.

That's obviously the way to go if you're at that point, but at the point where you have seven puppies and no way to take care of them, what are your options? People love the whole "taking them to a shelter" idea because it's so nice and clean. When, in reality, it's far more hellish than ending their lives quickly.

In which case I get off my fucking ass and find a decent home for the litter. I know that shelters put critters down after a period of time when they don't find an owner. So, I get out there and do it myself.I had a litter of kittens this year from a stray cat that we couldn't catch in time to get fixed. 5 little buggers. Everybody in town here already has cats. And most farmers don't take good care of cats or dogs. But I found good places for them by looking out in the area. The owner of those puppies was just taking a lazy ass shortcut option either way. Long story short, don't be fucking lazy. Get your fucking pets fixed. And if you have a litter of animals because you couldn't do that, then get off your fucking ass and do some legwork. Take some responsibility for yourself.

I have no idea how you got the idea that euthanasia is painful, but it absolutely isn't. It also gives the animal a degree of dignity in the sense that you're not blowing its brains out. The breed in question was a shepherd, which are very popular and are highly adoptable as puppies; it was very likely that they would have found homes and have lived happy lives.
Laughing my ass off if you legitimately believe animal shelters use euthanasia when killing their animals.
