How he was carrying the rifle is really gonna sway my thoughts on this one. The article states the magazines were also in a backpack, so this already leans me against the public's reaction here...

He should've had his weapon cased, and shouldn't have been walking around with a plate carrier on. Weapons are strictly banned in malls, so he absolutely was violating that ordinance, regardless of whether the ammunition was in a backpack (or even if his rifle was in a case). I'm all for the right to carry, but use some common sense. This was fucking stupid, and you'd think an NCO would have a little more sense than open carrying a rifle with body armor, and how lame is it to go do a photo shoot in that shit at Macy's of all places?

what so fallout man cant just walk around with his gun ready and body armor on just in case some raiders are hiding out in the mall? what kind of world is this where we cant protect ourselves from all the evil dark skinned people?

really though, you gotta wonder how delusional these kinds of people are... i bet he's been fantasizing about violent home/public defense for years.

Handguns are (a) easier to handle than rifles, (b) cheaper, (c) easier to hide and (d) are used in the vast majority of homicides nation-wide.
